It was cold and everything was frozen a few weeken

It was cold and everything was frozen a few weekends ago but we still spent over an hour walking around in nature. I observed the details of the ice surrounding all the branches and watching it melt. I stood at the edge of the lake that was still frozen, listening to the ice cracking with each small wave. I just walked around listening to the sound of nature. 2020 was chaotic but it forced a lot of us to slow down and take stock of what we have, appreciate all that we accomplished, the people who truly matter to us, and to spend some time alone.

These are the best moments of 2020. It's been a memorable year for sure. I've learned a few new things like chopping wood with an axe, gardening, woodworking, and carving a pumpkin. We also spent a lot of time on zoom calls with friends and went on more camping trips than I ever thought I'd be comfortable with. I'm happy to say goodbye and good riddance to 2020

OMG I love Woodstock, NY. Ulster County is my second favorite, followed by Manhattan. I definitely see myself buying a weekend home somewhere in Ulster County at some point in the future 😍
Also, Woodstock, NY is not actually where the famous 1969 concert took place. The music festival was held in Bethel, NY which is about 40 miles from woods, NY

Usually we turn Thanksgiving week into a vacation and travel. This year, we stayed home and celebrated with a few close friends with good food, drinks, and some karaoke. Duck confit, fresh (HUGE) raw oysters, salmon roe, green beans casserole, and some good whiskey. Given where the state of the country is, we have plenty to be thankful for.

We've been driving along the Palisades Parkway for years and never knew there was a gem of a seafood restaurant in Pomona. It's the typical northeast seafood restaurant and very reasonably priced. Dozen fresh oysters for $15, TWO lobster rolls for $20, and lobster bisque full off lobster pieces for just $5. Everything tasted delicious and it will be our usual stop from now on. There are many things on the menu that we want to try 😋
