WATCH TILL THE END: Marine iguanas can stay under water in the ocean for 30 mins. This means they swallow a lot of salty ocean water. When they come back on land, they have glands connected to their nose to excrete the excess salt. They sneeze it salt. Watch till the end to see a marine iguana sneeze the excess salt directly at me 😂♥️

The first hike was on Sombrero Chino Island, about 200 meters from the southern coast of Santiago Island. We saw marine iguanas and lava lizards, both of which are very well camouflaged on the black lava rocks. We also saw adult Sally Lightfoot crabs, which stand out on the black lava rocks. The sea looked beautiful, with birds flying around and blue-footed boobies diving in to get fish.

We have two days in Quito, but it's at 9,350 feet elevation, so we didn't want to do anything too strenuous. This is the second highest city in the world. We needed to acclimatize to the high elevation. We walked around museo de a Ciudad. It was a nice and relaxing day.
